Q: Can Chiropractic treat numbness in my legs?

Question:
My mom is 80 years old. She is very active in the Elderly Centre. But lately, she complains about numbness in the legs. She went to the public hospital and was diagnosed with Sciatica. The doctor suggested that she is examined for osteoporosis. Can Chiropractic help her?

Answer:
Chiropractic has very goof results with sciatica or anything related to numbness in the legs. However, as a person ages, the bone and the cartilage will degenerate. Chiropractic can only do so much as relieve the pressure from the bone to the nerve. For the degeneration part, it will only be beneficial if your mom would start replenishing her bone nutrition by taking calcium, glucosamine and collagen regularly.
