A Physiotherapist is not a doctor and they are not specialists in the spine or the muscular system.  They can not diagnose a disease and must require a referral by doctors to perform various physical modalities on patients.  These physical modalities include moist heat, traction, electrotherapy, ultrasound, and rehabilitative exercises.
