Heading: Neck misalignment can cause dizzinessMs. Tam suffered from dizziness and vertigo for more than 10 years. She went to many specialists but couldn’t find out the real reason. She had done CT scans of her brain and everything was normal.  Some doctors even suggested that she is suffering from mental stress and asked her to take psychiatric medication. She was referred to see a chiropractor to examine the neck to see if the dizziness was neck related. After xrays, it was discovered that her C1 (1st vertebra of the neck) was misaligned.
The nerve on the C1 controls many parts of the head including blood supply, pituitary gland, scalp, bones of the face, brain, inner and middle year and the sympathetic nervous system. When the nerve supply is impinged due to the C1 misalignment, symptoms such as headaches, nervousness, insomnia, high blood pressure, dizziness, migraine headache, amnesia and chronic tiredness can occur.

In Ms. Tam’s case, her dizziness is due to impingement of the C1 nerve. To treat her problem, she was adjusted using a chiropractic adjustment method to re-align her C1 vertebra. After treatment, she felt great relief and her dizziness had decreased. She had about 10 visits and her dizziness was gone.
